Florida is synonymous with sun-soaked beaches and crystal blue waters, and Naples is no exception. Not to mention, the city’s proximity to Marco Island and the Everglades also makes it one of the best destinations for outdoor adventures. asked me to share a few of my favorite activities in Naples, from wildlife watching to sunbathing on the beach. So, if you’re planning an action-packed trip to Naples, then make sure to tick a few of these activities off your bucket list.

Where to Stay in Naples

If you’re planning a trip to Naples, Florida, then make sure to check out for accommodation. With thousands of hotels in the Naples area, you’re guaranteed to find a hotel or hostel that fits your style and budget.

First-time visitors should stay around Third Street South, which is the epicenter of the city. It’s just a few blocks from the Naples Pier and surrounding beaches.

Another option is to rent a room in the charming neighborhood of Old Naples. Or, you can stay in one of the many luxury resorts on Port Royal or Park Shore.

Watch the Sunset at Lowdermilk Beach

Get a front-row seat to one of Naples’ most spectacular sunsets at Lowdermilk Beach. Although it’s one of the smaller beaches in the area, Lowdermilk is still a popular destination for a relaxing evening on the water. Concession stands are located on-site, so you can grab a cold drink and a bite to eat too.

Take a Tiki Cruise Around Naples Bay

This isn’t your average booze cruise! If you’re looking for something unique, then spend the afternoon on a floating tiki bar around the crystal blue waters of Naples Bay. You and five of your best pals can rent your very own private tiki bar, where you’ll be able to set sail on the open shores while listening to music and sipping on tropical cocktails. Pina Coladas, anyone?

Hike Through the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

As one of the largest breeding areas for wetland birds, the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is a hidden gem right in the middle of Naples. As you walk through the two-mile stretch of wooden boardwalk, you’ll be able to spot rare wood storks, snowy egrets and yellow-crowned night herons. If you’re lucky, you might also see a few alligators and cottonmouth snakes!

Step Back in Time at Palm Cottage

As Naples’ oldest house, Palm Cottage is a rare glimpse into what life was like over 100 years ago. During your tour, you’ll be able to wander through five themed rooms and adjacent gardens to learn about the early days of Naples. The museum is filled with historic memorabilia and antiques that recreate what Florida was like in the early 1900s.
